Dr. Thomas X. Minor was born at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia. His parents, William and Ellen, are both decorated Vietnam War veterans, and just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He graduated from Northgate High School in Walnut Creek in 1990. His introduction to the Central Valley began at age 18 after accepting a baseball scholarship to California State University, Fresno. Dr. Minor pitched in the 1991 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. Following his senior campaign, he was recognized as a third team All- American pitcher, as well as the team MVP. Dr. Minor also received the Co-SIDA academic All-American of the Year award, presented to the top Division I student athlete. He was drafted by the St Louis Cardinals and enjoyed a two-year professional baseball career.
In 1996, Dr. Minor matriculated to the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, graduating President of his Senior class. He completed residency training in Urological Surgery from 2000-2006 at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), a top 5 program in the United States. He shared 5 cross-over training years with his current partner, Dr. Nadeem Rahman while at UCSF.
In 2006-2007, Dr. Minor completed a fellowship in robotic surgery at Austin Hospital in Victoria, Australia under the guidance of Dr. Damien Bolton.
Dr. Minor has proudly served the Central Valley as a board certified Urological Surgeon since 2007. Dr. Minor’s subspecialty interests include the treatment of prostate and kidney cancer utilizing robotic and laparoscopic techniques. He enjoys microscopic reconstruction in the field of infertility as well as advanced endoscopic therapy for kidney stone disease. Dr. Minor is skilled in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) both in the office and operating theatre. He has successfully performed over 6500 vasectomies in the course of his 13 year career thus far.
In 2019, Dr. Minor proudly co-founded California Urology with Dr. Rahman to provide the best urological services in the Clovis, Fresno and surrounding communities.
In Dr. Minor’s spare time, he enjoys archery, classic cars, and farming pistachios and grapes at his ranch, Villa Minore and most importantly spending time with his family.
